Fumigation means that wood material must be treated to avoid that any entomological residues enter the country of destination. This is made compulsory by ISPM 15, an international regulation. Treatment is normally being done by Methyl Bromide and "wood material" really means ANY wood material including all packaging like pallets, boxes, crates, cases and so on. Some countries also ask for a phytosanitary certificate. The actual situation is as follows:
